Murus Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs): Products
Murus manufactures three lines of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) that share several qualities:
- innovative design
- flexibility
- focus on quality control
All Murus Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) products offer significant benefits over traditional construction:
- energy savings
- reduced labor
- faster construction times
- structural strength
- reduced waste
- design flexibility
- a tighter building envelope
- a more comfortable living environment
All Murus Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are energy efficient and ideal for Green building projects. Optional factory pre-cutting and electrical chases with several height placement options are available.
Each Murus SIP product also offers specific attributes and benefits:
Polyurethane (PUR) SIP
Murus combined several innovative elements in their Polyurethane (PUR) Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). This industry-leading product uses a specially formulated polyurethane closed-cell foam that offers several crucial advantages: unmatched thermal performance, superior R-values, and thermal-set plastic (does not melt) properties that earn Murus polyurethane SIPs a Class I Fire Resistance rating.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) SIP
Murus Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) SIPs offer a high quality, competitively priced alternative to conventional construction. EPS Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) contain a core of rigid cellular foam plastic. The EPS foam core is molded in large blocks and cut to size, then laminated to the OSB skin surfaces with an extremely strong and durable one-part Urethane adhesive.
Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) SIP
Murus Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) SIPs provide an excellent alternative to EPS SIPs, where higher R-values and thinner cross-sections are required and budget considerations are not a priority. The XPS foam is a rigid cellular closed-cell foam, and the manufacturing process consists of extruding polystyrene foam into a pre-determined length and thickness, milling it to assure dimensional uniformity, then pressure-laminating it to the panel skins.
R-Values
R-value is defined as a measure of the capacity of a material, such as insulation, to resist heat flow, with increasing values indicating a greater capacity. The higher the R-value of a material, the greater its insulating capacity. Murus Structural Insulated Panels R-values range from R-16 to R-57, depending upon the type of foam core and its thickness.

Tool Rental and Purchase
Murus offers factory CNC pre-cutting on all Murus SIP orders. While having your insulated panels pre-cut can save you time and energy, you may choose to cut your structural insulated panels yourself.
