While factory CNC pre-cutting of your Murus SIP order has many time- and money-saving advantages, you can site-cut your panels if you so choose.

Murus offers a panel router and accessories for rental or sale to help you get the job done more quickly.  The Murus panel router is a specially adapted tool for removing the foam core edges of both Murus Polyurethane and EPS SIPs to accommodate inlet plates and nailers. The Murus panel router should not be confused with a traditional hand-held router. Murus EPS SIPs can also be routed using a hot knife.  Hot knives, also called foam scoops, are available through various sources, including:

NOTE: Hot knives or foam scoops will not rout Murus Polyurethane SIPs.

On-site cutting of Murus SIPs can be accomplished using a 16" diameter circular saw, a standard circular saw (cutting one side of the panel, then flipping the panel over and completing the cut through the other side), or a standard circular saw with a bar and chain attachment.  Bar and chain attachments are available from many sources, including:
